The Hidden Roll.

Last night when we were getting ready to put Brynn down for the night and she does what she does best......

she spit up all over her neck.

If you have seen Brynn lately she has started to pack on the pounds and has the cutest chubby cheeks ever! (not to mention the cute new rolls on her thighs). Well Russ went to clean out the spit up in her neck and on the wipe there was blood!!! Where did that come from!?!? We went to investigate and since she has gotten so chubby in her face and neck there were seriously like 5 rolls under her neck! We had to pull her head up and pull the rolls apart to see what was going on down there. The poor thing had a raw neck from moisture and spit up! We always clean her neck out but there was like a hidden roll under all the other rolls on her neck that trapped all the moisture down there! I'm surprised she hasn't been more fussy lately because it looks like it hurts! Poor Brynn! So we are keeping it dry and clean now!

Sorry Brynn! We love you!
(and are still learning....)

Oh man! Poor thing! That looks so sore! By the way, when we brought Sharon home from the hospital, she had a little more chunk, and had a bit of a neck roll, too. She ended up having a bit of a raw spot on the side of her neck from the same thing. What's gross is that not only was it raw & bleeding, but it smelled bad because of the spit up that had been hanging out there for awhile. Yuck!

Once my mom found a ladybug that met an untimely end in my baby sister's neck roll :)

Someone should really tell new mothers about this sort of thing. We had a similar situation with our first. So don't worry, Selena, it's not only you:)

Have you tried putting corn starch on the cut? My sister told me it heals sores like that up fast. it's just an option if nothing works well.

That made me so sad. Poor thing. I remember cleaning out Sam's nasty neck and feeling like I was hurting him when I stretched it out.
