This has been a long hard week for Russ and his school work. He hasn't been home before 7 o'clock and last night he didn't get home till 9:30ish!! He works everyday from 8-12 then has a pretty full day of classes ahead of him (including a few night classes).
Last night he got home about 9:30pm from doing a group assignment with some classmates and then started the rest of his homework. I didn't have to work today so I stayed up with him while he did his homework. I started to get tired around 1:30 am so I headed off to bed. Russ thought he was done with his homework around 2:00ish then he realized he had forgotten about an assignment due the next day. Soooo, then he was up another couples of hours and didn't get to bed until 4:00am. He had to wake up at 6:30 in the morning to get ready to go to work but when he got up for work he felt sick to his stomach. So he called into work because he had another long day ahead of him and if he didn't get some sleep he would not make it. So he got ready and got dressed up for a mock interview he is having for his class. He again won't be home until about 10:30 tonight.
So if you are having a bad day think of Russ. His sucks too.
Look at the cute elephant my dad got me for Vday! it dances and sings and i love him! thanks dad! (dad spoils us on valentines day!)
Soooo I hope everyone had a super extra fabulous wonderful special Valentines day!! Yes, as you may know i LOVE holidays!! Especially the holidays you get alittle extra loveand attention from that special someone....Well, I had to cut Russ a little slack this Valentines Day because he's been a little busy with school (and maybe a little last minute...) So i tried to make it a special day for him. So i woke up a little early (and told him he was not allowed to come out) and made a little trail of hearts leading to the bathroom.
Then when he got to the bathroom he got to read my sign that I wrote on the bathroom mirror.
Below the mirror were some more scattered hearts and a few sweet little presents not anything too extravagant but a few small things to show him how much i love and appreciate him. He basically is the best husband a wife could ever have! I am so lucky!
I got him a chocolate caremel heart,
and a new tie (for everyone who doesn't know Russ LOVES new ties)...
And i made him a little book (it's supposed to be like a childrens book) about our life together (which i actually started when i was dating Russ and I finally finished it!)....
Then we headed out to Church on Sunday and on our way out he had a whole bunch of love messages. (i know i think i go a little over board, but i have so much fun i can't STOP!)
After we came home from church we had a crock pot ROAST waiting for us! I don't cook much but I asked what meal Russ wanted on Valentine's Day and Roast was his choice. I put it all in the crock pot the night before (like at 2 in the morning) and cooked it on slow. so when we ate at 2 the next day it was DELISH! Russ seemed to enjoy it....
Russ did pull through with a sweet card and gift at the end of the day. He made me a cute CD of love music both slow and fast songs...it included L-O-V-E by franky, Clumsy by fergie and many more! It's a great mix! We took a drive to listen to it in the car.
And last but not least Here is the FUN part, look what Russ wrote in his card!! I LOVE IT! it DID make up for his tardiness.
I am so grateful for the loving husband I have and for everything that he does for me. I am so glad I married him. He's cute, he's always happy, he loves me no matter what, he always apologizes first, he taught me how to correctly hang my bathroom towel, he does the dishes and the laundry, he works hard and goes to school, he makes me laugh, did i mention he is cute? I love my husband and I will love him more and more everyday! Thanks Russ you are the BEST! Let's end on a love picture shall we?
I never believed Russ when he says I never closed the cabinets.....that is....until I saw this today. I literally turned around in the kitchen and said "whoa!" out-loud to myself. I thought a ghost came and opened them all up when I wasn't looking.
I am turning a new leaf with blogging. I think I want to not only give you the day by day update of my husband and I's lives but showing glimpses of (as Jasmine Star says) the moments in the in between.Life is too short. I want to remember all the little things and be grateful for all those mini blessings and small joys we get everyday. So to start things off I was looking through the thousands of pictures I take and started looking through Dec. I came across these pictures and they made me laugh. If anyone knows my sister Lacey you know that people get us mixed up and she is basically a mini me. (but she dresses way cooler than i ever did in high school. remember the old navy?) Anyways I thought I would share these pictures. she is a funny girl and i love her! I'm sure she would not appreciate it but these are the things that make me LAUGH! SMOOCH SMOOCH!
So as a lot of you know I am a ONE TRIPPER. I like to take one trip from point A to point B without having to walk back and forth a million times. Some might call it laziness, others might call it efficiency. Whatever you call it I am all about the One Trip. A trip to the grocery store is the perfect example. Today Russ and I went to the grocery store and we got lots of grocery's (Because we haven't been in FOREVER!) and Russ says
"Selena, we will HAVE to take multiple trips for this one"
I of course Say
We get home and I tell Russ to take the water and go unlock the door. So as he goes to unlock it I start to load up the bags. I have long sleaves on so it helps when the bags start to dig into yours skin. He comes out and there are only 2 milks and 4 bags left. I swear I could have gotten them all but Russ being the nice husband that he is says....
"Um, I'll get the rest."
So there you have it.
Are YOU a one tripper?
You can't see all of the bags, but this is me with 12 bags of groceries...
Today was Ruby's blessing! It was a great day! Dawn was here to see along with Russ and I and Marcus's family! She is sooo sweet in her blessing dress But please look at the cutest headband that amy bought for her. Marcus gave a wonderful blessing. i HEART her! so Ruby, HAPPY BLESSING DAY!
I know, why do i even bother posting these? Well it's because i just love them so much and I know there are a few others that want to see them. So because I am Selena and I take a million gazillion pictures, you will have to bare with me as I finish up the moth of december slowly. I mean i could blog ONE MASSIVE post but that would just be a little TOO out of control.
Anywhoo...Russ whole family was in town for a bit for Kerri's AZ open house and Christmas. It is so fun to hang around those Sorensen's. I have been pretty dang lucky to marry into a family that i have ALWAYS known and LOVED. They are all so great and pretty entertaining. So we all did a fun temple light trip with the whole Sorensen gang, even with our new member of the family Marcy! We love him! It was a great time. All the Arizona people were wining about the cold. They don't know NOTHIN. But Russ was whining too because he forgot his hoody and and was sick (you know those boys when they are sick...big BABIES.) It was pretty fun and I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.....
Russ had to borrow one of my hoodies in the car because he wore a t shirt and shorts. yah, REAL SMART.
OH good ol dawn and doug
Those Blairs keep on growing!
They like hats
I love christmas lights!!!
That is Marcy's permanent picture face...
The whole sorensen gang minus clint....i especially like ryland in this picture...
Well my friend Ruthie turned 21. and you know what THAT MEANS!?! GET WASTED!!! hahahaha! Just kidding. But we did go to this place called Spark Lounge. It's a place you could only find in Utah wear you get drinks like an Apple Martini or a Bloody Merry, but they are completely non-alcoholic (they don't serve alcohol period.) So since we don't drink I thought it was a very appropriate place to go considering she was now legal. hahaha. It was actually a pretty fun place, good atmosphere, good food and drinks. But man I thought the concept was pretty funny. It's in Provo so now you all can get why I think it is so funny. Anywhoo here are a few pictures of us there. We tried to look drunk. But we are not. =-) There is my disclaimer.....
Cody and Jake are on a CLEANSE, so they kept to the water and stuffffff.
This is Ruthie laughing because we are singing happy birthday to her!
Look at her sweet husband paul looking at her. he is so happy!
Russ got this weird drink that in order to open it you have to push a marble through the top of the drink pretty cool huh!?!
